Andy Powell has won his maiden FF1600 race at Cadwell Park this weekend. Following a Friday test posting Pole times Andy put the www.andypowellracing.co.uk Royale RP26 Pink Panther on Pole position.
Andy lead from the start, but was initially overtaken into Park corner on the first lap by previouse race winner Colin Williamson, before he was forced into a mistake towards the end of the first lap, spinning and handing back the lead. Andy was then put under significant pressure from past Champion Steve Pearce. Following a robust defence of the lead Andy pulled away leaving 2nd and 3rd to fight it out for the remaining podium positions while Andy drove a tidy race to maintain the gap. After 12 laps Andy eventually took the flag for his first win. Thanks to Stuee and Father Reg and the whole family for their help and support over the years.

Spoils for the winner.

Andy and Paul Burt will be testing the FF2000 on the 9th September at Brands Hatch, before the whole team travel North to Oulton Park on the 24th September for a double header weekend in both the FF1600 & FF2000. Andy and Paul once again have high hopes at a track both drivers love. Once again full details of this weekend will be posted when available.
October sees the final rounds of both the FF1600 & FF2000 championships at Mallory park. As ever the team will be there with both FF1600 & FF2000 cars. There may even be a late appearance for Reg in the Classic Clubmans, however this will be subject to having the car prepared in time following a very busy September.
November will see the now traditional season ending Walter Hayes Trophy for FF1600 cars. Andy will again compete the FF1600 in the main event with support from Paul Burt in the FF2000 race.
As ever details and reports from all these events will be posted as they happen on the web site.
